Psalm 3

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

About the Psalm 3 Violin

Psalm 3 was inscribed in both English and German onto this violin. The varnish consists of a pure amber varnish, aside from the ground coats. The model is a Guarneri ‘Del Gesu’ Cannone-inspired model.

I was so happy with how this instrument turned out. There were however so many ups and downs with this one. So much damage control. One mistake I couldn’t fix was an ink mistake near the button where the ink went too deep, thus making it irreparable. However, despite its flaws, it is truly a beautiful instrument (in my eyes). So many violins possess a unique and special character simply because of their “flaws”. Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri ‘Del Gesu’ is one of the most highly regarded violinmakers in history, and often displays “flaws” in his work, yet he is still considered the greatest if not one of the greatest violin makers in history in part because of his creative individuality and expression in his instruments.
